When  Champion Kengali’s Caribbean Soul, “Sachi”, was ready to breed, only the very handsome Champion Manzanita’s Trifecta (“Jax”) would do! Jax’s owner, Lynn Valdivia, brought Jax to Dr.Vanderlip to collect, process and ship semen to Florida for Sachi’s insemination. On June 12, 2011, Sachi gave birth to a beautiful litter. Sachi’s owner, Ginny Merchant, kept a gem named “Charm” and says, “The pups turned out gorgeous and they have the best temperaments! I am very, very happy with the way everything turned out. Champion Bon Idée’s Hippie Chic (Pilar) came to Dr. Vanderlip for estrous cycle monitoring and a transcervical insemination with
semen shipped in from  Champion Preacherman Mapleridge.  Dr. Vanderlip performed the transcervical insemination and two months later peformed a C-section on Pilar.

Two days later, Pilar’s companion, Madison, also came to Dr. Vanderlip for an emergency C-section. Madison is quite the celebrity, being ranked as the Number One Bouvier des Flandres in the nation. She is known to all her admirers in the dog fancy as American and International Grand Champion Bon Idée’s Garden Party. Her puppies were sired by American and Canadian Champion Trust-Dusty v.d. Vanenblikhoeve.

The result of all these breedings, surgery, and excitement? A very happy ending with a two litters, a total of nine beautiful Bouvier des Flandres puppies born, and two very busy, happy, owners!

Sally (Anderscroft Steamboat Sally) is one of our favorite Saddlehill success stories. Sally failed to produce puppies in four years, so Susan Eberhardt decided to bring Sally to Dr. Vanderlip for help. Dr. Vanderlip monitored Sally’s estrous cycle and when the time was right, she performed a transcervical insemination on Sally. The result was a gorgeous litter sired by BISS Champion Saddlehill Struttin’ in the Moonlight.

Owner/breeder  Susan Eberhardt writes:

“After four unsuccessful years of NO pregnancies, Dr. Vanderlip accomplished a full litter from our Sally (Anderscroft Steamboat Sally) ! We are so thankful to have babies for the future!  Sally has both her majors, a Specialty WB and BOS, and was Best of Breed at Palm Springs. Leyla (Beshire Saddlehill Leyla’s Dream):  Leyla was surgically inseminated with frozen semen from CH. Saddlehill Driftwood and whelped nine puppies.

Early (Champion Saddlehill Don’t Be Late): Dr. Vanderlip performed a transcervical insemination on Early that resulted in a beautiful litter  sired by Ch.Shalane Fly By Knight. One of the puppies from that litter grew up to be MBISS Ch. Saddlehill Late Knight Scramble.

When it came time to breed Champion Starline’s Fendissime at Oxford (Fendi) to Champion Starline’s Sovereign (Ashton), the challenges were many. Dr. Vanderlip collected, processed, and froze Ashton’s semen and shipped it to Idaho for the insemination. But winter weather and technical and transit problems prevented the laboratory from providing important  test results needed to precisely time the procedure. Despite limited laboratory information, Dr. Vanderlip helped determine the best breeding date and on March 31, 2010, Fendi gave birth to nine gorgeous, healthy, whippet puppies!

Success! Fendi and her nine beautiful babies! 7 females and 2 males!

Exciting update…shortly after Fendi’s breeding, Dr. Vanderlip shipped Ashton’s frozen semen to another champion whippet and she has recently given birth to five beautiful puppies! Check back soon for details on this second litter!

In late 2009 New Zealand BISS Champion Congistador Once Only whelped a gorgeous litter of six healthy puppies sired by American BISS Champion Sunstrike Romeo.

Dr. Sharon Vanderlip collected, processed,  froze, and shipped “Romeo’s” semen to New Zealand. Watch for these beauties in the New Zealand show ring soon!

Gunner was produced from ICSB frozen semen. Dr. Vanderlip performed the transcervical artificial insemination. But Gunner was a singleton and HUGE. His mother, Genni She’s My Girl Evans, needed help! So Dr. Vanderlip also performed the C-section.

Gunner is as patriotic as he can be! He’s red, white, and blue! Red color, white markings, and blue eyes! Perfect for a puppy born on the Fourth of July!
Gunner’s sire is Champion Kadyak’s Meet the Press.

Oh…and by the way, Gunner’s mother, Genni, was also produced from artificial insemination performed by Dr. Vanderlip!
